Erwin Stache is presenting his sound installation Arten sterben (Species die) for this exhibition at Times Art Center Berlin. The main components of the installation are radio and television tubes produced between the 1930s and the 1960s – some of which still work. Hidden speakers emit sounds and noises, changing the green light of the magic eye tubes or the numbers displayed by the Nixie tubes. The multi-channel composition gives the impression of a musical conversation between the tubes that are still “alive.”
